This policy covers RestFlow, a macOS menu bar break reminder, and this privacy policy website. RestFlow requires no account. Timers, reminders, and statistics run locally on your Mac. The developer does not collect, receive, sell, or share your personal information through the app.
No network access
RestFlow's core features work without a network connection. The app has no developer-operated server, cloud sync, advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking SDKs. It does not upload preferences, statistics, or foreground app state. The app does not send crash reports to the developer. Apple's own system diagnostics and App Store services operate according to your system settings and Apple's policies.
Data stored only on your Mac
To do its job, RestFlow stores the following locally on your Mac and nowhere else:
Preferences: work and break durations, reminder toggles, and any apps you add to the Deep Focus list.
Daily statistics: time counted by the work timer, completed breaks, skips and postponements, longest continuous work period, and individual work session durations. These are calculated from the app's timer state; RestFlow does not read the macOS Screen Time database.
Preferences and statistics remain on your Mac until you delete them. The app does not currently purge historical statistics automatically. The developer cannot remotely access, recover, or delete this local data.
To remove the data, quit RestFlow first. For the sandboxed Mac App Store version, use Finder's Go to Folder command to locate and remove ~/Library/Containers/com.restflow.app/. For a non-sandboxed version, statistics are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/RestFlow/ and preferences are normally stored in ~/Library/Preferences/com.restflow.app.plist; logging out or restarting your Mac after deletion may be needed to refresh the system's preference cache. Moving the app to the Trash alone may leave this data behind. Copies in backups you create must be managed separately using your backup tools.
Foreground app detection
So that it can stay out of your way during meetings, RestFlow reads the identifier of the app currently in the foreground to check whether it is a video conferencing app. This check happens in memory only; the result is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
The app also reads the system-provided number of seconds since the last input event to pause the timer and recognize natural breaks. It does not read or record typed text, individual keystrokes, pointer positions, screen content, meeting content, browsing history, or clipboard content, or record your camera or microphone.
Notifications and your controls
The app requests macOS notification permission for local break notifications. You can disable notifications in System Settings → Notifications → RestFlow, and adjust reminders, sounds, and meeting detection in the app's settings. Quitting RestFlow stops its local timers and detection.
This website and support requests
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The page includes no advertising, analytics scripts, tracking cookies, external fonts, or contact forms. To deliver and secure the website, Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request times, and request information sent by your browser, as described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy. Visiting this website does not upload RestFlow's local statistics to Cloudflare.
If you choose to email the developer, your email address and the content you provide are received only to handle your request and retained for as long as needed to do so. You may request deletion of that correspondence using the address below, subject to any legally required retention. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
Not directed to children
RestFlow is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data handling changes, this policy will be updated with a revised effective date. Any data processing that requires authorization will be subject to the relevant authorization first.
